After many years of planning and development, work is now underway and the first trees were planted at Life for a Life's Lowes Road memorial forest in 2020.
With help from Chandos Remediation this lovely 2.5-acre site offers clients dedicated car parking and a formal pathway that runs through the centre of the memorial forest.
The short walk from the car park to the top of the memorial forest reveals the site's most beautiful feature, the view. Holcombe Hill and Peel Tower can be seen on a clear day against the backdrop of the West Pennine Moors.
The memorial forest is located only a few miles away from Bury town centre and is adjacent to Lowes Park Golf Course. There is also access to the wider countryside via kissing gates that take visitors through a developing willow coppice plantation towards "Top o' th' Hill" and an old quarry which nature has reclaimed with long oak and birch saplings.
Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plantlife to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree. Please be aware that any prohibited items left on or around memorial trees will be removed.
