Nestled within the serene landscapes of Besom Hill Country Park in Oldham, the new Besom Hill Memorial Forest offers a tranquil and meaningful way to remember loved ones. This unique location is in partnership with Oldham Council, who have generously provided the land, ensuring a beautiful and enduring legacy for the community.

Visitors to the Besom Hill Memorial Forest can immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the park, exploring its diverse flora and fauna. The area is also home to a popular walking route that connects to Bishops Park, providing a picturesque path for reflection and enjoyment.

The lower meadow is a diverse, pollinator-friendly meadow. Life for a Life will enhance it by managing the meadow, meaning it will receive an annual cutting and arisings collection each September to mimic a natural grazing cycle and reduce nutrient levels, both crucial components for wildflower meadow management.

At the summit of Besom Hill stands a large, distinctive stainless-steel cross, erected in 1998 to mark the dawn of the third millennium. This prominent landmark is a focal point for the community, hosting a communal service every Good Friday, organized by local churches. The cross serves as a powerful symbol of faith and community spirit.

A small free car park is available for visitors to the Besom Hill Memorial Forest. **Please take care when visiting Besom Hill as there is a risk of falling rocks and an unstable cliff edge.**

Life for a Life planting areas are natural environments where we encourage wildlife and plant life to flourish, as such additional items should not be added to the tree or the space around it, especially as they can cause damage to the tree.

Please be aware that any prohibited items left on, or around memorial trees will be removed.
