Description

Opened during September 2007 this new memorial forest is situated off Calf Lane, which is located off Manchester Road (A635) in the picturesque village of Friezland, Greenfield. Bordering with nearby Mossley.
This beautiful haven is home to a number of species of wildlife, some of which have been encouraged back to the area by the re-opening of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. The canal, which has previously been closed for fifty years, runs adjacent to Calf Lane giving visitors to the site the opportunity to explore this peaceful and tranquil area.

Built in the valley of the River Chew and at the edge of the Peak District National Park, the nearby village of Greenfield and surrounding villages of Saddleworth offer a selection of tourist attractions suitable for all Life for a Life clients and their family members.

The Life for a Life site is in easy reach off the very famous ‘Pennine Way’ and the ‘Longdendale’ trail. This will be of interest to both serious hikers and walkers.
