Opened on 15th September 2005 and nestling in the foothills of the Mendips this stunning planting area is located just outside the village of Chew Magna in North Somerset.

The area is rich with wildlife and birds and has been designated a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’ and a ‘Special Protection Area’. Surrounded by meadows and woodlands, this site is popular with birdwatchers and anglers as well as those simply wishing to take in the magnificent views.

The lake is also popular with water sports enthusiasts, hosting sailing and windsurfing. Other facilities nearby include a nature reserve, numerous picnic areas and designated walks.

It is hoped that trees planted in this spectacular Life for a Life Memorial Forest will contribute significantly to the beauty, peace and tranquility of this area for many years into the future.

This land along with other similar areas of outstanding beauty has been kindly donated to the Life for a Life scheme by Bristol Water.
